VantageFeed ("VantageFeed", "we", "us") operates vantagefeed.news, a Pan-African news aggregator. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what choices you have about it.
Account data. If you register, we store your email address, a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text), an optional display name, and your reading preferences (which countries/categories you follow). We also store a session refresh token so you stay signed in, which expires automatically after 30 days.
Usage analytics. We use Mixpanel and Google Analytics to understand how VantageFeed is used — which articles get read, which features get used, general traffic patterns. Neither loads until you accept our cookie banner; declining keeps them off entirely.
Bet Corner activity. If you post a prediction, tip, or comment in Bet Corner, your username and that content are stored and shown publicly within that feature.
What we don't collect. We don't process payments and don't store any payment card data. We don't sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.
To operate your account and keep you signed in; to personalize your feed against the country/category preferences you set; to understand product usage in aggregate via analytics; and to run the community features in Bet Corner (predictions, tips, discussion).
We use third-party infrastructure providers to run VantageFeed, each of whom processes data on our behalf: Railway (hosts our database and backend services), Vercel (hosts the site you're reading), Mixpanel and Google Analytics (usage analytics, only after consent). Article credibility scoring and AI-generated summaries are produced by third-party AI providers (Anthropic, Groq) processing article content — not your personal account data. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
We ask for your consent before loading any analytics cookies — see the cookie banner shown on your first visit. Strictly necessary cookies (e.g. keeping you signed in) are not gated behind that banner, since the site can't function without them.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Session refresh tokens expire automatically after 30 days. Aggregated article content (not personal data) is purged from our systems after 14 days as part of routine housekeeping — this doesn't affect your account.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to export it, at any time by contacting us (below). We'll respond within a reasonable time.
VantageFeed is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy as the product changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
